Privacy Policy

The CharacterGuess application contains all the data it needs to run with all its capabilities. As such it has no need to connect to external services. We do not track app usage.

The only time data is transmitted from the CharacterGuess application to us is when you choose to report an error.

When you report an error we will receive a unique device ID as well as the device type and name, in addition to the feedback you provided. This device ID is not associated with any username or personal information.

Unless you use the "report error" feature in the app, no data will be transmitted and the app will be entirely self-contained with no connection to the internet.

Your study progress is stored on your device and backed up through your own iCloud account (on iOS) or Android Auto Backup (on Android). This backup is managed entirely by Apple or Google under your device account — we never receive, store, or have access to your study data.

Vocabulary pack purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase records are kept by Apple or Google under your store account, which is also how your purchases are restored on a new device.

The characterguess.app website uses a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool (Umami) to count anonymous page visits. It uses no cookies, collects no personal information, and cannot identify or follow you across other sites.
